Post Islay single malts

Is it just me or do others feel that once you develop taste buds for Islay single malts (particularly the Laphroaigs and Ardbegs) it's very hard to fall back on the speysides and other regions. Almost every other dram feels like cr*p now post developing a taste for Islay. The only sad part is that Islays are pretty darn expensive here in Washington state. I pay 90 USD for Ardbeg 10 post taxes. Nevertheless, Islays are the only single malt scotch whiskeys I seem to enjoy now.
