Hegseth's DoD Town Hall Transcript
I don't have any military experience or anything, so I'm not sure if these kinds of events usually start with the Sec Def declaring "All Glory to God," but it certainly make me feel a little uncomfortable, even if it isn't incredibly surprising.
I'm posting this because he definitely seems like a bastard that might eventually commit the kinds of atrocities that could get him featured on the show but, honestly, there are parts of this where he displays the kind of vapidity that demonstrates why he probably would never be the focus of an episode.
One thing I don't understand, however, is how he reconciles his disdain for diversity and past statements speaking against women in combat roles with the fact that the military engagements currently taking place in Ukraine seem to disprove the arguments he's trying to make regarding diversity and "warrior ethos" or whatever. I guess you could just chalk it up to the nationalist belief in american exceptionalism.
Also his claim not to have any "special interests" certainly seems like a baldfaced lie given his fanaticism and the people listed in his Venmo contacts. The latter of which leads me to believe that any lip service towards conducting an audit is just that.
I've seen people in this sub mention having served, though, and was hoping to hear some of y'all's opinions because I don't really know what I'm talking about.
