Couldn't Nitro be a third presenter alongside Brad and Barney?

When Nitro was injured we knew he wouldn't be competing this series. However I was led to believe that he would still be around and have a role to play.

That role I assumed would be as a third presenter (Ninja Warrior had Ben Shepard, Chris Kamara and Rochelle Humes) alongside Brad and Barney.

I know he's been in what, a couple of locker room scenes and is doing this prank show spin off, but I think he should've been given a larger role in the main show.
